As dentists, one of our most important roles is teaching patients about the value of preventative care. We can help you avoid a filling by examining your dietary choices, brushing technique and routine, and checking your mouth routinely every 6 months.
Looking after your teeth depends strongly on having a preventive mindset. This means coming in to see us for a check-up, even if your teeth appear to feel and look fine.
We may recommend the use of fluoride toothpaste if you don’t already and to purchase an electric toothbrush, which is much more effective at cleaning your teeth without causing problems like gum recession (this is common in patients who use a manual, hard-bristled brush).
